This year was no different. We’re so proud to share that our 2023 gala was a total success. Keep reading to learn how much we were able to raise for our important mission with your generous bids and donations.   This year’s gala was held in the Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City, Utah. CHOICE was honored to have an incredible lineup of speakers including Kristin Andrus, fierce community advocate, and Jeremy Andrus, CEO of [Traeger Grills](https://www.traeger.com/shop/wood-pellet-grills?gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwkY2qBhBDEiwAoQXK5d3OLa3ahZpMomw-6pu0YVCtROpYohzLHrQtt92_i2vsNWBs92qnyBoCufsQAvD_BwE). They were joined onstage by their beautiful family, who shared their experience on an [expedition](http://choicehumanitarian.org/expeditions)to Nepal with CHOICE Humanitarian.  ![MicrosoftTeams-image (4)-3](https://blog.choicehumanitarian.org/hs-fs/hubfs/MicrosoftTeams-image%20(4)-3.png?width=4400&height=2934&name=MicrosoftTeams-image%20(4)-3.png) CHOICE Humanitarian was also honored by the participation of Emily Franson Evangelista, advocate and CHOICE Certified Expedition Leader, Jordan Menzel, General Manager of [Maple Grove Hot Springs](https://www.maplegrovesprings.com/) and Certified Expedition Leader and Critt Aardema, MD and dedicated friend to CHOICE.   The theme of this event was You Are Here. All of us as humanitarians are here to reduce poverty, to do good, and to uplift others through connection. We are here to use our shared humanity *to help humanity*.   Amidst the festivities, Chris Johnson, a loyal member of the CHOICE Humanitarian family for over 20 years, was named the third recipient of the James B.
